Creating FoneDB databases is easy. Forms are designed and maintained on a desktop computer. Simply specify the controls you need, such as edit box or drop-down list, and the types of data (e.g. text, integer). Records can be viewed or edited on either the desktop system or the Smartphone device.
Once created, each FoneDB form is a compact application that can store and retrieve data locally without a network connection. The databases can be read-only or modifiable. After the data is collected, you can synchronize your Smartphone with your desktop PC. You can also read data from any ODBC-enabled database, including Microsoft Access, Sybase, or SQL Server. When working with ODBC-enabled applications, you can read or write data in a FoneDB database.
FoneDB applications are intuitive and simple-to-use. Data can be viewed in list mode (one line per record), view mode (single record, read-only), or edit mode (single record, read/write). Selection boxes can be manipulated intuitively with up/down and left/right buttons.
Quick and Easy Access to Data
FoneDB's calculated fields are a great time-saver. They allow you to automatically apply mathematical operations to values in fields. Operations include addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division (+, -, *, /). For instance, a 15% tip can be calculated based on an expense value.
Data can be searched and filter operations help you sort through large, cumbersome lists. These filters allow you to narrow your view of the data to just those records that meet particular criteria. For example, you can find only those records with invoices that are over $500. Or you can find the antique shows that will be in Boston during the month of April.
No Digital Signing Required
