Free English-Chinese (but no Pinyin) dictionary developed by the Linguistic Data Consortium at the University of Pennsylvania. Short entries, but lots of obscure scientific/medical terms. 110,578 entries.
How to install:
Palm OS: Double-click on the downloaded file and it should automatically extract to a folder. Then, open up that folder and double-click on the database file (should have a .pdb at the end of its name) to queue it up for installation to your Palm. If your Palm has an SD or Memory Stick flash memory card installed, you may want to install the dictionary to there instead of to your Palm's main memory - to do this, press the "Change Destination" button and move the file to the memory card, or if there is no "Change Destination" button then simply drag the file into the "Expansion Card" box. Finally, HotSync your Palm with your PC and the file should copy over.
Pocket PC: Double-click on the downloaded file and it should automatically extract to a folder. Connect your Pocket PC to your computer, go to "My Computer" and "Mobile Device." In that Mobile Device folder, open up the first icon (it will likely say "My Windows Mobile-Based Device") and open up the "SD Card" or "Storage Card" folder inside of that. Drag the extracted file into that folder. Finally, open up PlecoDict, choose "Quit" from the Dict menu, then run PlecoDict again - you should now have access to the dictionary.
