The prophecy states that the person who unites with Niu will gain tremendous strength, and that Apollo will be the one to do it.
In order to prevent the prophecy from coming true, the devil put a curse on Niu, locking her away into an alternate reality that he had created. He intended to violate Niu and use the power that he gained from her to take over the world.
