Airlook Mobile Email description

Access emails from your mobile device.

You've got a mobile phone, now how about having mobile email on it?

On your desk, you have a phone and a computer giving you access to your email. Away from your desk you have only your mobile phone. Wouldn't you like to get mobile email on that, too? With Airlook from FastComm, you can - and lots more too, including calendar, contacts and tasks direct from your corporate mail store. Just as if you were sitting at your desk. And its all available, anytime & anywhere on your mobile phone, PDA and Laptop.

Low, Low Cost

Most mobile email services from mobile operators require you to pay a hefty amount each month, and buy a new mobile device to carry around, in addition to the cellular handset you already have. With Airlook, you can use your existing phone, as long as it is capable of receiving WAP information.

And you don't need to sign up for a expensive monthly charge. Airlook only sends the actual emails you request to the phone - most of the formatting information which the phone can't handle is removed by Airlook prior to sending. And Airlook will only send the emails you request, saving even more time and money. As a result, most Airlook users spent less than a tenth of the amount on data as is charged for an operator service. Typical use is around 1MB of data a month. For light users, who are only out of the office part of the time and therefore use Airlook mobile email relatively infrequently, usage can be much lower. Compare that to the monthly fees for an operator service.

Since you can install it yourself, there is a saving there too. And there is no separate charge for server software, you only pay once for each user.

Be Responsive

No-one likes to be ignored. With Airlook on your mobile phone, you can immediately respond to emails from customers, management or co-workers. You may not want to write War & Peace with a mobile keypad, but a simple 'Yes, will do' will only take a second and will show how on-the-ball you are. If the mail is complex, and requires more discussion, then the best reply may be a call from your mobile. Either way, you can be responsive and reactive wherever your working day takes you.

Proven & Reliable

Airlook has been available for more than 4 years and has over 40,000 users across the world. Clearly, we understand mobile applications and what is needed to make them simple and reliable. Airlook is a server application, so installation is a little more complicated than a typical PC system. If you simply follow the instructions, we know Airlook will work. We have done this hundreds of times and we haven't lost anyone yet. Try it & see. Mobile applications need not be the complicated affairs the operators would like you to believe.

Future Proof

OK, so what does that mean? Well, today you might be using a GSM phone from Nokia - no camera, no colour, just an ordinary handset. Tomorrow, you might want to switch operators to take advantage of better rates or service, get a colour camera phone and maybe even an iPAQ or Palm. No problem. You can use almost any mobile device, including your laptop, to access all of the functionality in Airlook.

Many corporations today are standardising on fairly low-end mobiles - no camera, no PDA functionality etc. Partly this is for cost reasons, but security is also a factor. If you lose a mobile phone with all of your emails stored on it, the potential for a breach of confidentiallity is much higher. Airlook stores no information on the mobile device to combat this.

Also, Airlook is highly scalable. Start with just a few users secure in the knowledge that you can simply add more licences and grow your mobile-enabled workforce to many thousands of users. To give an example, a single-processor current server will support more than 4,000 users in a typical environment. One Airlook server can also address many Exchange or Domino systems - the most we have come across in a live environment is 29 Exchange 2000 servers with 120,000 total mailboxes! There is no need to move all the users to one server, in fact absolutely minimal configuration is required to start enjoying the benefits of mobile access.

Simple, Affordable, Quick & Easy

This sums up the Airlook experience. Despite what the consultants would have you believe, mobile applications need not be expensive, complex integration projects that only super humans can understand (or use!). Airlook installs in less than 2 hours (if you're slow - our record is 20 minutes), requires no major changes to your infrastructure, LAN, Active Directory or Mail Server, and is immediately productive. You can send settings to your mobile phone via a simple SMS message, massively simplifying large roll-outs. There is no software to install and support on all those devices.

Give it a try. The trial is without cost, carries no obligation and will set you free from your desk and your mobile operator!
