Unicode strings can appear on your Palm after receiving vCards and other information from PocketPC or Symbian devices or mobile phones where Unicode is a default character encoding. For the first half of single-byte codepage (first 127 characters) UTF-8 encoded Unicode strings look the same as the ASCII strings. But all other characters are encoded in two or more bytes and cannot be displayed on the Palm. But with UniDec you can select UTF-8 encoded text in any application and decode it to the codepage of your Palm device.
