1-Togo is not an application, rather it is a series of web pages that your iPhone / PPC accesses via Safari (iPhone/Touch browser) or PIE (Pocket Internet Explorer).

1-togo can be purchased directly from Omega One's web site (www.OmegaOne.com).

It appears that Omega One's goal is to have 1-Togo be the replacement product for Journal Bar.

It does not appear that Omega One is offering existing users of Journal Bar any kind of a discount. Rather they are asked to pay the full purchase price of $29.99 plus a yearly fee of $20. It also appears that Omega One is trying to convince users that they have a version of 1-Togo for the iPhone/Touch and a separate version for Pocket PC / Smartphone devices. This seems strange since the product is just a series of web pages and those web pages should be smart enough to detect which browser is being used.

I tested the "application" on an iPhone. It appears that the "application" does not detect when the device is rotated to landscape mode as the screen does not really reformat itself to take advantage of the wider screen in landscape mode.

It appears you can also use 1-Togo to get your email. However, in order to do this I think you have to provide Omega One with your username and password and I am not comfortable with giving them this information.

I tested using both WiFi and on the A T & T Edge network. On WiFi the pages loaded reasonably fast. However, on Edge, which is what most people will be on, the pages loaded REALLY slow.

Unlike Journal Bar, since 1-Togo is just a web page, the information does not show up on the Today Screen (Pocket PC / Smartphone) or on the main screen on an iPhone / Touch. In addition, the information is not cached so to get the data you need to have all the pages reloaded every time you want to see the information. If you are not on the Internet then you will see nothing.

Since the iPhone and Touch both have embedded applications for weather and stocks (which DO cache the information) I don't see why these users would use 1-togo for stock and weather information. The embedded applications allow you to track unlimited cities and you can enter the city by city name (not zip code).

As far as the other information that 1-Togo provides, there are lots of free sites out there which provide the same information (e.g., Google).

The good news, is that since 1-Togo is not any kind of application which actually runs on the device, there should be no memory leaks like Journal Bar was notorious for. However, if 1-Togo does take off, do Omega One's servers have the capacity to support thousands of users? If not, users might experience large delays or total service outages. I also wonder how long the news feeds and weather feeds will continue to work. Will 1-Togo have the same issues as Journal Bar did? If so, paying a yearly fee of $20 for sporadic service would not be justified.

The way Omega One is trying to gouge the customers with the "Download Protection Fee" and the fact that they have abandoned support for Journal Bar reminds me of the time they renamed Battery Pack to Battery Pack "Pro" just to force existing Battery Pack customers to have to pay for future upgrades. Omega One proved they cannot be trusted when they claimed Battery Pack Pro was a completely new product but they used the same Handango Product ID so they could keep the download numbers, ranking, and reviews that were written for Battery Pack.

Bottom line is that 1-Togo is an interesting idea, however, $30 to purchase it plus $20 per year is not justified. There are just too many solutions out there which are either free or much less expensive. I think it will be a total flop with iPhone / Touch users because the interface is so busy, not clean and easy like Apple users are accustomed to. Microsoft users may be a little more forgiving. OmegaOne should have hired some Apple developers to help design the interface. It is pretty obvious that the pages were designed by Microsoft style developers.
