Much much better than the Intent Java Midlet manager when running on a Windows Mobile phone or pocket pc. The Intent Java Midlet manager insists that you permit a program to use your mobile network every single time that the program tries to do so. For example, each time you click a hyperlink in Opera Mini (a java midlet internet browser), the manager asks to you permit the midlet to do so. This is most annoying. This is where the IMB emulator comes it. The security settings here are such that you only need to permit Opera Mini to access the network once when you first open it, and then you can click as many links as you want without any warning messages. Downside: don't try to use the IBM emulator to install any programs as it requires the specific URL of the program and how are we supposed to know that?! It did not recognise any of my previously installed programs but once I had downloaded them again through Internet Explorer on my phone, they were all there. So to cut a long story short: this program allows you to use Opera Mini on your phone, which is far far better than the version of Internet Explorer found on Windows Mobile. |
